民進黨智庫將舉辦「勤政 為民 壯大台灣」─民主進步黨8年執政研討會，共18場次。前總統陳水扁辦公室20日寄出電子郵件，以扁辦名義廣邀各界參加，並稱為「陳水扁總統八年執政研討會」。

民進黨執政8年研討會自本周五（23日）起，將一連4周的周五舉辦，共進行4天。

智庫執行長林萬億日前曾表示，由黨的智庫來舉辦研討會，請有執政經驗、具學術背景的前政務官執筆撰稿，並加入學術、專家、媒體等社會各界意見，透過擴大參與，檢視民進黨過去8年的執政，也藉由回顧過去，展望未來，促進民進黨進一步為未來作準備。

研究會訂於23日、30日、9月6日、9月14日的上午9時到下午5時30分，地點在集思台大國際會議中心的蘇格拉底廳。場次大致以行政院的施政領域來分類，包括民主憲政、國防、外交、經濟、財政、社會、教育、文化等共計有18個場次。
