【楊永盛／苗栗報導】通霄鎮白東里公墓前天起陸續被人發現大量寵物犬被丟棄，多數是紅貴賓，警方協請社區守望相助隊長陳清榮等人，20日地毯式捉到32隻被野放的寵物犬，擔心交給清潔隊最後可能被安樂死，PO在網路引發愛心民眾爭相認養，截至今天上午剩下9隻，警方正調閱路口監視器，希望揪出不肖棄狗人法辦。

愛狗媽媽陳淑娟說，被尋獲僅有2隻種公狗，其他是多次生產的老母狗，近年興起紅貴賓飼養熱潮，但因為狂犬病導致寵物犬市場大幅衰退，繁殖場為節省成本，竟以這種方式棄養這批老狗，可惡至極！她說，最近1個月內，通霄地區就發現近100隻寵物犬被丟棄，盼政府儘快揪出禍首。
