英國小王子出生第三天，肯辛頓宮宣布取名為喬治，完整頭銜則是劍橋喬治王子。皇室分析家妮卡：「這是很大恭維，以女王父親的名字替兒子命名。」英國宣布小王子命名為喬治後，澳洲北領地送他的禮物是一之命名為喬治的鱷魚寶寶，這隻鱷魚是在威廉夫婦宣布懷孕那天孵化的。
